Riverdale, N.Y. – Paced sophomore
Ashleigh Scozzari (New Rochelle, N.Y.) who recorded career-highs with 19 kills and 20 digs, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team scored a key 25-21, 18-25, 25-14, 17-25 and 15-11 league win over Old Westbury on Saturday morning. The win is the second straight overall for the Dolphins and their first at home in 2013.

The two teams went back-and-forth on Saturday, alternating set wins throughout the match. The Dolphins got an early jump on the Panthers after recording 11 kills and taking advantage of eight Old Westbury attack errors in the opening stanza. Scozzari put away six winners in the set to push the Mount to the early 1-0 lead.

The visitors responded to even the match in the second set after hitting .244 as a team and getting five winners from Jocelyn Small. She hit an even .500 in the frame for the Panthers to go along with three digs and a block.

Mount Saint Vincent answered back in the third to pull in front 2-1 with a convincing 25-14 win. The Dolphins used a 6-0 run to pull in front 8-2 keyed by a pair of
Maria Leineweber (Waimanalo, Hawaii) kills and later used a 6-1 spurt to move in front 17-6. For the set, the Dolphins put away six kills and took advantage of 11 Old Westbury attack errors.

Following a 25-17 win from Old Westbury in the fourth set, which included seven kills from Rayn Brown, the Dolphins secured the fifth set and their fourth league win of the season. After falling behind 4-2 in the early stages of the stanza, the Mount used three straight service aces from Leineweber to break a 7-7 tie. A pair of kills from
Alberita Rugova (New York, N.Y. pushed the Dolphins in front 13-10 before
Colleen Kallop (Bronx, N.Y.) and Scozzari put away winners to close out the match.

Scozzari had a career day for the Mount after recording 19 kills and lifting a career-high 20 digs The double-double is the fourth of the season for Scozzari who also added a service ace and five total blocks to the winning effort.
Brianna Walker (Pomona, N.Y.) matched her career-high with 11 kills on Saturday and added four digs, while Leineweber added eight winners, a match-high four service aces and a team-high 24 digs. Rugova picked up four kills for Mount Saint Vincent and lifted a career best 18 digs.

Sophomore
Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.) collected her team leading ninth double-double of the season after handing out a match-high 33 assists and lifting 11 digs. Daluz added a pair of aces and a kill for the Mount.
Jennifer Roman (Queens Village, N.Y.) finished up with 14 digs for the Dolphins, with Kallop adding six digs and a pair of blocks.

Old Westbury was led by Brown who put away 19 kills, equaling the match-high, and Small who totaled 12 winners. Samantha Howley led all players with 28 digs and joined Small with three aces. Kimberly Catania paced the Panthers with 25 assists to go along with two blocks.

Saturday's win pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 6-15 overall on the season and to a game above .500 in league play at 4-3. The Dolphins continue a season long five match home stand on Tuesday with a non-conference tilt with William Paterson. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
