Mahwah, N.J. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team dropped it second straight contest to open the season with an 11-0 loss at Ramapo on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins will take the field again on Wednesday night when they host Kings.
Ramapo got off to a quick start when Jaimie Towey scored her first of the game off a feed from Shea Bullen at the 11:19 mark of the match. Towey added her second of the game in a seven goal second half for the Ramapo just after the halftime intermission.
Leading 4-0 after the first 45 minutes, Ramapo exploded for seven tallies after halftime, including Bullen's first of the season just 52 second into the second half. The Roadrunners scored their first four of the half inside the first 16 minutes to ease to their second victory of the season.
Ramapo finished the game with nine different goal scorers in the game including two each from Towey and Bullen. The Roadrunners also finished the match with a 32-0 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
Mount Saint Vincent senior
Blair Butler (Hicksville, N.Y.) made the start in goal for the Dolphins and made six saves. Taila Auslin got the nod for Ramapo and earned the shutout victory without making a stop.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 0-2 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be in search of their initial victory of the season when they host Kings on Wednesday. Kick-off at Tibbetts Brook Park is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
