Box Score Purchase, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball squad snapped a three match losing streak on Friday night with an impressive 25-10, 25-8, 25-21 Skyline Conference win at Purchase. Junior
Morganne Booker (East Providence, R.I.) finished with 12 kills and freshman
Allison Regan (Carmel, N.Y.) finished with a match-high five aces.
Booker was the only player to reach double-figures in kills on Friday with her 12. She did not commit an attack error on her way to hitting a blistering .632 for the Dolphins. Booker finished the night with a dig and three total blocks.
Senior
Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also had a strong night after collecting eight kills and hitting .500 for the Mount. She finished the contest with five digs and two of the team's 16 service aces.
Regan continued her solid rookie campaign for Mount Saint Vincent after handing out five assists, totaling five service aces and recording four total blocks. Regan went on to pick up three kills in the winning effort.
Mount Saint Vincent also received strong efforts on Friday from
Ashleigh Scozzari (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and
Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.). Scozzari put away seven kills and hit an even .300 to go along with three blocks, while Daluz handed out 17 assists and lifted three digs.
For the match, Mount Saint Vincent finished with a 33-26 edge in kills and a 16-6 advantage in service aces. The Panthers lifted eight more digs then the Dolphins, but
Carly Jenkinson (Pacifica, Calif.) led all players with 13 digs for the Mount.
With Friday's win, Mount Saint Vincent gets back to .500 overall on the season at 6-6 and moves to 2-3 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday evening when they play two matches at Hunter. The Mount will take on Farmingdale St. at 6:00 p.m. before tussling with the host Hawks at 8:00 p.m.
