Purchase, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team had its four game winning streak stopped on Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 loss at league rival Purchase. Senior goalkeeper
Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) finished the day with seven saves for the Dolphins.
The Panthers scored a pair of goals in each half on Saturday and got the eventual game winner from Abigail Katz when she scored her ninth of the season from 30 yards out at the 14:40 mark of the contest. Purchase then went on to double its advantage in the 26
th minute when Cat Viscardi converted a crossing pass from Nathalie Lavelanet at 25:19.
After 45 minutes on Saturday, Purchase held a 10-1 advantage in shots overall and took three of the four corner kicks in the first half.
Coming out of the intermission, Purchase took a 3-0 lead 53:18 into the tilt on a Marykate McGee marker. Katz closed a three point day with an assist on the goal before McGee assisted on Kristen Condosta's goal in the 68
th minute to close out the scoring in the game.
Purchase had six different players with at least one point with Katz and McGee leading the way with three each. Jess Lindsey earned the victory in goal for Purchase after making one stop.
Mount Saint Vincent was outshot on the day 19-2, with
Brittany Kehoe (Stony Point, N.Y.) and
Meghan Siller (Staten Island, N.Y.) each recording one for the Dolphins.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 4-3 overall on the season and to 0-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will look to even their league record on Monday night when they play host to Mount Saint Mary. The first annual
