Eva Lugo (Monteria, Columbia) scored a goal and added an assist for the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team in a 4-2 come-from-behind win at Lehman on Saturday afternoon.
Brittany Kehoe (Stony Point, N.Y.),
Louisa Jamgochian (Olney, Md.) and
Karen Siranaula all scored their first goals of the season in the win.
Kehoe got the Dolphins off to a quick start on Saturday when she finished off a feed from freshman
Allison Bhadai (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) at the 14:17 mark of the match to push the Dolphins in front 1-0. The assist pushed Bhadai's team leading point total to seven.
The Mount Saint Vincent advantage would hold up until Lehman stormed back to score a pair of goals just three minutes apart in the early stages of the second half. Thamare Rejouis scored her first of the game off a pass from Samantha Dias and then pushed the Lightning in front 2-1 when she deposited a rebound in the goal at the 58 minute mark.
The Dolphins received the equalizer nearly 20 minutes later when Jamgochian tallied an unassisted goal 75 minutes into the match. Lugo potted the game winner from Mount Saint Vincent in the 82
nd minute when she cleaned up a rebound and found the back of the net for her first goal of the year.
Leading 3-2 in the final five minutes, Siranaula put the finishing touches on the victory when she took a pass from Lugo and beat Lehman keeper Marleny Hernandez. The assisted capped off a three point game for Lugo.
Senior
Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) picked up the win in goal for the Dolphins after playing the full 90 minutes and making a pair of saves. Hernandez finished up the afternoon with 12 stops for the Lightning.
Mount Saint Vincent finished the contest with a 25-7 advantage in shots and also held the edge in corner kicks 7-2. Fouls in the tilt were called 12-2 against Lehman.
The victory squares Mount Saint Vincent's overall record at 2-2 on the season and gives the Dolphins back-to-back wins for the first time since beating Yeshiva and NYU-POLY in two straight games on October 9 and October 21, 2010.
The Mount will look for three straight wins on Wednesday when it plays host to John Jay. Kick-off at Westchester Community College is slated for 4:00 p.m.
