Brooklyn, N.Y. – For the second straight season the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team saw its season end at the hands of NYU-POLY following a 17-25, 12-25, 19-25 loss to the Jays in the opening round of the Skyline Conference Tournament Friday night. Freshman
Ashleigh Scozzari (New Rochelle, N.Y.) paced the offensive attack with six kills.
Scozzari closed out her freshman campaign with the six winners and hit .222 for the Dolphins in the match. She also totaled an ace, a pair of digs and the Mount's only block of the match. Scozzari closes out the season with team highs in kills with 232 and total blocks with 67.
Zana Daluz (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished off the night with three kills and hit .750 for the Dolphins, while leading the team with 11 assists. She recorded her team leading 10
th double-double of the season after picking up 12 digs.
Senior
Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the match with 16 digs for the Dolphins and also chipped in with two aces and a pair of kills.
Erika Moncada (Yonkers, N.Y.) put away three winners for the Mount and lifted eight digs.
The Jays received a match-high 16 kills from Corey Loupee who also led all players with eight total blocks, while chipping in 13 digs in the winning effort. Alyssa Niquette handed out 29 assists for the Jays, with Megan Morgan and Shelby Bruns each totaled seven kills.
Overall in the match, NYU-POLY finished with the edge in kills 36-15, digs 66-62 and total team blocks 10-1.
Carly Jenkinson (Pacifica, Calif.) led all players for Mount Saint Vincent with 21 digs in the match.
Friday's loss ends Mount Saint Vincent's season at 11-17.
