Mahwah, N.J. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team got in the win column with a lopsided 85-7 win over Medgar Evers on Saturday afternoon at the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Ramapo. Junior Shannon Koch (Kings Park, N.Y.) led the scoring attack with 13 points for the Mount.
 
The Dolphins trailed only briefly on Saturday after Medgar Evers tallied the first bucket of the day. From there the Dolphins scored 60 of the next 62 points overall in the first half and 85 of the next 90 overall in the game.
 
All 12 players that appeared in the contest scored for the Dolphins, who shot 42.3-percent from the floor. Koch finished 5-for-10 from the field on the day and canned three triples to go along with a pair of rebounds, two assists and four steals.
 
Tanisha Montague recorded a career-high with 12 points in the game on 5-for-8 shooting and also picked up five steals. Desiree Rosa (Dumont, N.J.) and Nicole Oliver (Carmel, N.Y.) also appeared in double-figures with 10 points each.
 
Junior Kayla Giordano (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) also had a strong day for the Mount after scoring eight points and swiping a career-high eight steals. She also led the Dolphins with four assists in the game.
 
For the game, Mount Saint Vincent shot 33-for-78 from the floor and 6-for-15 from behind the arc in the win. The Dolphins also outrebounded Medgar Evers 45-23, including 27-2 on the offensive glass.
 
Mount Saint Vincent also forced 56 turnovers in the game and had five players with at least four steals. The Dolphins turned the miscues into a 65 points to go along with a 15-0 advantage in second chance scoring.
 
The win evens Mount Saint Vincent's record at 1-1 overall on the year. The Dolphins will look to climb above .500 on Tuesday when they open league play against St. Joseph's-L.I. Tip-Off at the Sharp Center is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
