Bhadai scores twice, Siller records two assists

Throggs Neck, N.Y. – Led by a pair of goals from freshman Allison Bhadai (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) and two assists from classmate Meghan Siller (Staten Island, N.Y.) the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team snapped a three game losing streak with an impressive 4-0 win at Maritime on Wednesday.
 
Mount Saint Vincent held a 12-3 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes of the game, but couldn't get on the board until the 54th minute when Bhadai collected her seventh goal of the season. Siller led Bhadai on a breakaway from 20 yards out and the rookie finished off the goal to the left side at 53:01.
 
After playing the opening 53 minutes without a goal, the Dolphins went on to score a pair of goals in a 13 minute stretch in the middle stages of the second half. Bhadai tallied for the second time of the game and the eighth time of the season after she caused a turnover and scored at the 65:16 mark of the match.
 
The Dolphins kept the pressure on in the second half and built a three goal advantage when Brittany Kehoe (Stony Point, N.Y.) notched her third goal of the season after chipping in a pass from Siller at 75:32.
 
Freshman Victoria Astorino (Warwick, N.Y.) became the ninth different player to score a goal for the Dolphins in 2012 when she finished off her first career tally with just under 10 minutes to play. She led a breakaway down the left side and closed out the scoring at the 80:51 mark of the contest.
 
Bhadai scored two goals in a game for the third time in her rookie season and now leads the Mount in both goals with eight and points with 17. Siller picked up her first career multiple assist contest and now leads the Mount with four helpers and is tied for second on the squad with Kehoe with six points.
 
Senior Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) continued her strong play in goal on Wednesday for Mount Saint Vincent with her third career shutout. She finished the game with two saves. Her counterpart from Maritime, Laura Palino, stopped 12 shots for the Privateers.
 
For the game, Mount Saint Vincent held a commanding 32-3 advantage in shots, including a 16-2 edge in shots on goal. The Dolphins also took six of the seven corner kicks on the day.
 
The win gets Mount Saint Vincent back to .500 overall on the season at 5-5 and improves its Skyline Conference record to 1-3. Next up for the Dolphins is a trip to league rival Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon. Opening kick-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
