Montclair, N.J. The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team was shutout for the second time in as many games on Saturday after an 8-0 loss at Montclair St. Senior netminder Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.J.) finished the contest with seven saves for the Dolphins.

Montclair St. got off to a fast start after scoring three goals inside the first 20 minutes of action. The Red Hawks would add three more in the opening 45 minutes to carry a commanding 6-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

 

Francesca Gibson scored the first three goals for Montclair St. and added her four in the second half on her way to an eight point afternoon. Overall in the game, Montclair St. had five different goals scorers and showed seven different players with at least one point.

 

McNish finished the afternoon with seven saves for the Dolphins, while the Red Hawks used three different keepers in the contest.

 

Overall on the afternoon, Montclair St. held the edge in shots 27-0 and took all five corner kicks in the contest. Fouls in the match were called evenly at four infractions for each team.

 

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 0-2 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look to get into the win column on Tuesday night when they play host to Yeshiva. Kick-off at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, N.Y. is slated for 8:00 p.m.
