Riverdale, N.Y. – In a hard fought non-conference match, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team was nipped by Lehman on Wednesday night by a score of 3-2. A pair of Dolphins recorded double-doubles in the match, including Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who led the team with 12 kills.
 
In a back-and-forth affair on Wednesday, the Dolphins and Lightning traded set wins through the first four stanzas. Trailing by four points in the fifth, the Mount rallied to push in front 15-14, but Lehman responded with a rally of its own to sneak away with the victory.
 
DeMasi continued her strong recent play for the Mount after recording double-figures in kills for the third straight match and the sixth time overall this season. She also lifted 10 digs for the Dolphins and added a service ace and a total block.
 
Junior setter Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) also posted a double-double in the contest after leading the team with 27 assists to go along with 12 digs. MacBride also paced the Dolphins with four of the team's 10 service aces.
 
Senior Maureen Metzner (Mineola, N.Y.) had a strong all-around night for Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday after collecting nine kills and lifting 16 digs. Metzner was one of five Dolphins with at least 10 digs in the contest. She joined MacBride, DeMasi, Madeleine Garaicoa (Glendale, N.Y.) who lifted 12 and senior Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) who led all players with a match-high 37.
 
Lehman featured a pair of players in double-figures in kills on the night with Gerri-Ann Martin leading the way with 17 and Shari Quiles adding 11. Martin also led the squad in digs with 13 on the night, while Jasmine Bermudez led all players with 37 assists.
 
Lehman finished the night with 42 kills to 31 for Mount Saint Vincent, while the Dolphins lifted 98 digs to 35 for the Lightning. Lehman posted 13 total team blocks on the night to seven for Mount Saint Vincent, with freshman Sungji Clarke (Tarrytown, N.Y.) posting six total blocks for the Mount.
 
The loss is Mount Saint Vincent's fourth straight and drops them to 9-19 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look to close out the regular season with a victory on Saturday when they host league foe Purchase. Match-time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
