, N.J. – Competing in the Ramapo Classic on Saturday afternoon, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team dropped three non-conference matches by a score of 3-0. The Dolphins were topped by SUNY-Plattsburgh by scores of 13-25, 13-25 and 17-25, by the host Roadrunners by scores of 8-25, 22-25 and 15-25 and by Centenary by scores of 14-25, 23-25 and 21-25.
 
In the opener against Plattsburgh three Mount Saint Vincent players combined for 17 kills. Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) led the way for the Dolphins with six kills to go along with six defensive digs.


Morgane Booker (East Providence, R.I.) continued her strong play in 2011 with five kills and a .364 hitting percentage. Booker also finished the match with the Dolphins only total block.
 
Mount Saint Vincent had a pair of players finish with better then 10 digs in the contest, with senior Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) leading the way with 22. Maureen Metzner (Mineola, N.Y.) joined Reynes with 15 digs to go along with three kills. Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) finished up with a team-high 14 assists.
 
Overall in the opener, Mount Saint Vincent finished with a .037 hitting percentage as a team and lifted 56 digs. Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished the match with the only two service aces for the Mount.
 
DeMasi had a strong match against Ramapo for the Dolphins after posting a team-high 11 kills and a .273 hitting percentage. She finished a strong all-around match against the Roadrunners with two more aces and 10 defensive digs.
 
DeMasi was one of two Dolphins to finish the middle match of the day with a double-double. Joining her was MacBride who finished with a team-high 21 assists and 11 digs. MacBride also chipped in with a kill for the Dolphins.
 
Reynes had another strong day on the backline for the Dolphins, leading the team in digs with 17. Metzner also had another solid match with six winners to go along with eight digs.
 
The Dolphins finished the Ramapo match hitting .212 after totaling 26 kills. The Mount recorded 53 digs in the contest and finished the match without a total team block.
 
In the final match of the day against Centenary, Metzner was the team leader in kills after totaling seven of the team's 21 in the contest. She also finished up against the Cyclones with 10 digs.
 
Reynes closed out a strong day with 24 more digs for the Dolphins and also chipped in with a kill. She finished the three matches with 63 digs and averaged 7.00 digs per set over the three contests.
 
Williams posted five kills for Mount Saint Vincent, while Booker closed the day with three winners and three total blocks. MacBride handed out 12 assists for the Dolphins and totaled two of the Mount's three service aces in the match.
 
As a unit, the Dolphins hit .188 in the final match of the day after posting 21 kills. The Mount lifted 49 digs against the Cyclones and recorded 3.0 total team blocks.
 
Saturday's results drop Mount Saint Vincent to 6-14 overall on the season. The Dolphins will look to get back into the win column again on October 6 when they travel to Albertus Magnus. The non-league match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
