New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team was defeated twice on

Tara Mead posted seven kills against Centenary on Friday.

Friday night, falling to Centenary (N.J) 3-1 and at Baruch 3-0. The Dolphins were downed by the Cyclones by set scores of 17-25, 25-17, 25-23 and 25-20 before falling to the host Bearcats by scores of 10-25, 18-25 and 19-25. Senior Tara Mead (Pearl River, N.Y.) led the Mount against Centenary with seven kills.

A trio of seniors led the Dolphins against the Cyclones in the first match of the evening. Mead paced the team with seven kills, while Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) lifted 18 digs. Setter Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) led the team by handing out 20 assists.

Centenary was paced by Devon Paffendorf who finished off 14 kills and Jelena Markovic who handed out 24 assists and lifted eight digs in the winning effort.

Against Baruch, the Mount was held to just a -.049 hitting percentage with three players tying for the team lead with three kills. Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) Kristine DeMasi (Bay Ridge, N.Y.) and Mead all finished with three winners for the Mount.

Sophomore Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) lifted 12 digs to lead the way and rookie Erin MacBridge (Merrick, N.Y.) posted a team-high 11 assists. Reynes also lead the Dolphins with a pair of service aces.

The Bearcats hit .223 against the Mount, with Carissa Hoover leading the charge with nine kills. Christina Pierre and Mayra Estepan also had strong matches with eight kills apiece. Posey Wilson lifted a match-high 16 digs and setter Melinda Santiago handed out a match-high 34 assists.

The sweep on Friday drops the Dolphins to 12-14 overall on the season. Complete statistics from the Centenary match will be posted when they become available.
