Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team won its third straight
match and moved its record to 7-2 at home on Wednesday night with a 3-0 sweep of Medgar Evers at Hayes Gymnasium. The Dolphins topped the Cougars by set scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-14. Junior

Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) led the offensive attack with eight kills each in the contest.
Nepomuceno and Williams were two of 10 players to record a kill in the contest as the Dolphins continued with a balanced attack. They had 11 players record a kill in a 3-1 win over Farmingdale St. on Saturday afternoon. Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) and Maureen Metzner (Mineola, N.Y.) each contributed four winners in the match on Wednesday.
Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) continued her solid senior campaign with a kill, four digs and match-highs in service aces with six and assists with 28. Williams also chipped in with four digs and three aces against the Cougars.
Overall in the contest, Mount Saint Vincent finished with 31 kills to just nine for Medgar Evers and lifted 45 digs to 40 for the visiting Cougars. Caryl Garcia (Bronx, N.Y.) led all players on Wednesday with 15 digs.
Medgar Evers (3-14) was led by three kills from Lennise Noralez and 14 digs from Charita Henry. Yvanna Jack finished with four total team blocks, including three block assists as the Cougars posted four total team blocks.
The win pushed Mount Saint Vincent back over the .500 mark on the season at 10-9 overall. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Monday, October 19 for their final home match of the season. The Dolphins will celebrate senior day on Monday and recognize the four seniors on the 2009 squad in a pre-match ceremony. The contest with St. Joseph's-Brooklyn will get underway at 7:00 p.m.
