RIVERDALE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team evened its Skyline
Conference record at 3-3 on Wednesday night with a 3-0 league win over Purchase. The Dolphins were led by
Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, NY) who posted eight kills and
Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) who chipped in seven winners.
Nepomuceno and Pierre both had solid all-around matches for the Dolphins in the win. Nepomuceno added two service aces and five defensive digs to her eight winners, while Pierre finished with two total blocks to go along with her seven kills.
Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, NY) also finished with a solid effort, posting six kills, a service ace and four digs. Jessica Williams (Cornwall, NY) posted four winners and a match-high six service aces to compliment eight digs on the night. Krystal Miranda (Putnam Valley, NY) finished the night with 21 assists and eight digs for the Mount.
Purchase was led by Olivia Hintz who finished up with six kills, while Katelyn Shankey and Laura Dykas tied for a match-high 10 digs.
Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent finished with 27 kills and a .235 hitting percentage. The Dolphins totaled 18 service aces in the contest against just two for the visiting Panthers.
The win improves Mount Saint Vincent's overall record on the season to 10-5 and its Skyline mark to 3-3. The Dolphins will be back in action again on October 23 when they travel to CCNY. The road contest is set for 7:00 p.m.
