Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team dropped just its second
home match of the season on Thursday night, falling 3-0 to William Paterson. The visiting Pioneers won the match by set scores of 21-25, 12-25 and 18-25. Sophomore

Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) led the offensive charge on the night with eight kills each for the Dolphins.
Williams finished the night with a .120 attack percentage and also totaled a defensive dig and a total block for the Dolphins. O'Shea also chipped in with two assists, a service ace and 10 digs for the Mount who fell to 6-2 at home in 2009.
Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, N.Y.) contributed nine digs and four kills for the Mount, while Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) had a solid all-around evening with four kills, eight digs and a team-high 22 assists. Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) lifted a match-high 23 digs for the Dolphins and also finished off four kills.
The Pioneers (10-3) were led by a double-double from Kelly Hellfrich who totaled a match-high 12 kills and also posted 12 defensive digs. Hellfrich also chipped in with a pair of service aces and five total blocks, including four assists. Amanda Mitchell finished with a team-high 13 digs, while Michelle Leeder was the third William Paterson player in double-figures in the category with 10. Megan Maher and Jillian Bronowich split the setting duties, registering 13 and 12 respectively.
Overall in the match, William Paterson hit .142 as a team and finished off 30 kills. The Pioneers lifted 62 digs in the contest to 59 for Mount Saint Vincent and posted five total team blocks to two for the Dolphins.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 7-8 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to the court on Tuesday, October 6 when they travel to CCNY for a non-conference match. The contest with the Beavers is set for 7:00 p.m.
