Reynes lifts 28 digs for Mount Saint Vincent

Renee Reynes was one of four Dolphins in double figures in digs.
Kings Point on Saturday, 3-0. The Dolphins were downed in the tightly contested match by set scores of 23-25, 22-25 and 26-28. Sophomore Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) led the way with eight kills, while Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) lifted a match-high 28 digs.

Williams hit .333 in the match, converting eight kills in 18 attacks with just a pair of errors. She also finished the day with a service ace and four digs. Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, N.Y.) and Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) each chipped in with three kills. MacBride also contributed a pair of aces and two assists, while Nepomuceno reached double figures in digs with 13.

Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) recorded her second straight double-double after finishing with 11 digs and 15 assists. Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) and Reynes rounded out four Mount Saint Vincent players with at least 10 digs with 14 and 28, respectively. O'Shea also finished with two kills and four assists.

Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent recorded 25 kills and assisted on 23 of those. The Mount lifted 84 digs in the contest to 53 for USMMA-Kings Point. Esmeralda Morales (Bronx, N.Y.) posted two of the Mount's three total blocks in the contest.

The Mariners were led by Jesselyn LaValley's seven kills. She finished off a double-double performance with 10 digs. Jenna Palaschak led all players with 25 assists and Marisa Sanchez posted a team-high 12 digs. The Mariners recorded 6.5 total team blocks in the match.

The loss snaps the Mount's mini two match winning streak and drops it to 4-5 overall on the season. The Dolphins will open Skyline Conference play on Tuesday when they host Mount Saint Mary. The match with the Blue Knights is set for 7:00 p.m. at Hayes Gymnasium.
