WAYNE, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball squad had its three match winning streak snapped on Saturday with a 3-0 loss at William Patterson. Freshman
Jessica Williams (Cornwall, NY) led the way for the Mount with eight kills in the match.
Williams had a strong overall match for the Mount adding five defensive digs and an assist to her eight winners. Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, NY) also had a solid match for the Dolphins, finishing with five kills and six digs.
Mount Saint Vincent had three players finish with double figures in defensive digs on the afternoon, with freshman Renee Reynes (Bronx, NY) finishing with a team and career-high 22. Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, NY) posted 13 digs to go along with 18 assists, while Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, NY) finished with 11 digs.
Sophomore Christina Pierre (Bronx, NY) posted the team's only total block in the match and she also added four kills. Nepomuceno added a match-high five service aces to go along with her 11 digs and three kills.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 4-2 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Friday, September 19 when they open Skyline Conference play against Sage. The match at Hayes Gymnasium is scheduled to being at 7:00 p.m.
