Dolphins Remain Perfect At Home, Down Lehman 3-1

Lisa O'Shea paced the Dolphins passed Lehman with a career-high 13 kills.
to 4-0 on Thursday night with a hard fought 3-1 win over cross town rival Lehman. The Dolphins took the tightly contested match by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 17-25 and 25-17. Senior Lisa O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) led all players with a career-high 13 kills in the match.

O'Shea hit .294 for the Dolphins on the night on her way to her career best in winners. She also recorded a pair of digs in the contest and accounted for 13 points over the match. She was one of two Dolphins to record double-figure kills on the night, as sophomore Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) finished with 11. Williams also finished with five digs for the Mount.

O'Shea and Williams are the top two players for the Dolphins in kills through the first eight matches of the season. Williams has 47 winners to date and is good for 2.14 kills per set. O'Shea has finished off 38 kills for the Dolphins over 20 sets and is averaging 1.90 kills per set.

Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished the night with a double-double for the Mount, lifting 15 digs and posting a match-high 29 assists. Leonard is the team leader in helpers on the season, averaging 5.48 assists per set and is second on the team in digs with 56.

Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) led all players in the match with 29 digs and also finished with a pair of assists and a team-high four service aces. Thursday's match marked the fourth time this season that the Dolphins have reached double-figures in service aces.

Lehman was led by Gerri-Ann Martin who posted 10 kills and Lisa Jagdeo who handed out 22 assists. The Lightning had a trio of players in double-figures in digs led by Jillian Acevedo with 25. Martin lifted 22 digs for Lehman and Jagdeo chipped in with 13 to complete her own double-double.

Overall for the match, Mount Saint Vincent recorded 42 kills to 26 for Lehman. The Lightning did left 85 digs to 75 for the Mount and Lehman also out blocked the Mount 3-1. Lakeisha Gordon led the way with a pair of solo blocks for the visitors.

The win evens Mount Saint Vincent's record for the season at 4-4. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Kings Point for a non-league match up with the Merchant Marine Academy. The contest is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m.
