Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) had their finest matches of 2006, and freshman
Bridget Leonard (Poughkeepsie, NY/Lourdes) recorded a career-high 19 assists as the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team swept Cooper Union, 3-0 on Monday night to improve to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC). The win was the Mount's 11th straight in HVWAC regular season competition as the Dolphins won the first two games, 30-16 and 30-16, before ending the match with a 33-31 win during the third game.
Martinez and Predergast were incredible with Martinez recording 12 kills against only three errors and leading the Mount with three total blocks. Predergast was equally up to the task, amassing her first double-double of 2006 with 13 kills and 10 digs. The duo combined for 25 of Mount Saint Vincent's 36 total kills. Leonard had her finest match at the Mount as she had all 19 assists without a single passing error. She also added four service aces.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Maritime College for a 7:00 p.m. Skyline Conference match.
