Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) had nine kills and senior
Monique Lopez (Bronx, NY/Aquinas HS) had a team-high 11 digs to go along with six assists, but the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team lost their third straight match, 3-0 to Centenary in a match played at Centenary College. The loss dropped the Mount to 10-18 overall, and the Dolphins finish their 2005 Skyline Conference slate with a 1-7 record.
The match was actually far closer than the score indicated as all three games going right to the wire with the Cyclones (8-14, 2-3 Skyline Conference) sweeping the match by scores of 30-26, 30-22, and 30-28. The Mount struggled all afternoon with sloppy play as they committed 28 attacking errors while registering only 22 kills. Predergast and Lopez had solid outings, as did sophomores Nicole Vita (Bordentown, NJ/John P. Stevens HS) who had 11 assists, and Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine's HS) added seven total blocks.
Mount Saint Vincent will now focus its attention on the upcoming Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) playoffs as they finish their HVWAC schedule during the upcoming week. On Tuesday, the Dolphins travel to Marymount College for a 7:00 p.m. match. On Thursday, they return home for their regular season finale against St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) at 7:30 p.m.
