(Farmingdale, NY) – Freshman
Katie Balch (Peekskill, NY/Peekskill HS) had a team-high seven kills and junior
Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) added six kills and seven digs, but despite playing a very competitive match, the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team was swept by Farmingdale State, 3-0, in a match played at Farmingdale State. The Mount lost the three games by scores of 30-25, 30-22, and 30-25 to fall to 6-13 overall and 0-3 in the Skyline Conference. They have now lost three straight matches and five of their last seven matches overall.
Balch continued to impress as one of the top freshman in the Skyline Conference as she had another tremendous match, and is now in the top-four on the team in kills, while Predergast remained the team's top hitter and team leader in kills. In addition to the outstanding efforts by Balch and Predergast, setters Monique Lopez (Bronx, NY/Aquinas HS) and Nicole Vita (Bordentown, NJ/John P. Stevens HS) also had big nights, combining for all 17 Mount Saint Vincent assists and 16 digs.
Mount Saint Vincent will look to get back to their winning ways as they return home for six consecutive matches, all of which will be against opponents from either the Skyline Conference or Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC). The home-stand begins on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. when the Mount hosts Sarah Lawrence College.
