Martinez, Dedvukaj lead Women's Volleyball to HVWAC Semifinals with 3-0 win over CNR

Second-seeded Dolphins to face Sarah Lawrence-Cooper Union winner on Saturday at noon

(Riverdale, NY) - Junior Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine) and freshman Michelle Dedvukaj (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine) combined for 24 of the Mount's 45 total kills to lead the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team to the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Semifinals with a 3-0 win over the College of New Rochelle on Friday night during a Quarterfinal match played at Mount Saint Vincent. With the win, the second-seeded Dolphins are now 16-10 overall and will face Sarah Lawrence in the HVWAC Semifinals on Saturday. Saturday's competition will begin at noon at Sarah Lawrence.

Mount Saint Vincent swept the match with scores of 30-15, 30-14, and 30-17.


Martinez and Dedvukaj were the story once again as each slammed home 12 kills during a terrific night. The Mount hit .290 as a team and combined for an incredible 17 service aces.


Mount Saint Vincent advances to the final four where they will take on a Sarah Lawrence team they came from behind to defeat 3-2 on Oct. 26. Should they win, they will compete for the HVWAC Championship for the second straight year and seventh time during the last eight years.
