Women’s Volleyball wins second straight match, 3-0 over HVWAC foe Medgar Evers

Balch’s perfect day paces Dolphins; MSV improves to 4-1 in HVWAC

(Riverdale, NY) – Junior Katie Balch (Peekskill, NY/Peekskill HS) enjoyed a perfect hitting day, recording seven kills on seven attacking attempts, and Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) and Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine) recorded six kills apiece as the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team routed Medgar Evers, 3-0 on Saturday during a match played at Mount Saint Vincent. With the win, the Dolphins improve to 5-3 for the 2006 season, including a 4-1 mark in Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) play.

Mount Saint Vincent was in control from the start, recording a 30-8 win during the first game that set the stage for what would prove to be a quick win for the Dolphins. The Mount won the next two games, 30-21 and 30-14 for their second sweep in as many matches, and fifth 3-0 sweep of the 2006 season.

Overall, the Mount hit .362 as a team, and recorded 12 service aces and 31 digs.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Monday, Sept. 25 when they host USMMA-Kings Point for a Skyline Conference match at 7:00 p.m.
