Dedvujak, Thorn lead Women’s Volleyball to sweep of HVWAC rival CNR

Dolphins improve to 4-3, 3-1 HVWAC; host HVWAC doubleheader on Saturday

(New Rochelle, NY) – Freshman Michelle Dedvukaj (Bronx, NY, St. Catherine) unloaded for a career-high 12 kills, a .579 attack percentage, and seven digs, and senior Jessica Thorn (Farmingdale, NJ/Colt's Neck HS) continued her outstanding recent play with a season-high 17 assists and eight service aces as the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team pounded the College of New Rochelle, 3-0 during a match played at CNR on Thursday night. With the win, Mount Saint Vincent improves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC).

The match was all Mount Saint Vincent from the start as the Dolphins breezed through the three games, 30-13, 30-20, and 30-16, hitting .319 and combining for 15 aces along the way. Dedvujak, the HVWAC Rookie of the Week last week, was simply incredible and is now in the top three on the team in both kills (1.59 per game) and digs (2.36 per game). However, the Mount also showed incredible balance as seven of the 10 Dolphins who saw action recorded three kills or more.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they host Medgar Evers and Pratt for an HVWAC doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
