Somerset, N.J. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team was defeated on the road
at Saint Elizabeth on Thursday afternoon by a score of 5-1. Mount freshman
Brittany Kehoe (Stony Point, N.Y.) scored the lone goal for the Dolphins, her first career maker.
Kehoe netted the goal in the 79th minute on Tuesday off a pass from classmate Sarah Colletti (Mansfield, Mass.). Kehow becomes the fourth Dolphin to score a goal in 2009 and the assist gives Colletti a team-high seven points on the season.
Saint Elizabeth jumped on top in the match at the 14:47 mark when Cassidy Crane finished off a feed from Alyssa Kirby for her first of three tallies. Crane was one of three players to finish the contest with at least one goal and one helper. Kirby added a marker for the Eagles and Diane Da Silva also posted a goal and a helper in the win.
Mount Saint Vincent freshman Michelle Miller (Chester, Pa.) finished the contest with 20 saves for the Dolphins and now has stopped 184 shots on the season. Saint Elizabeth used a pair of keepers in the match with Melinda Levendusky making four saves and Catherine De La Cruz making eight stops.
For the match Saint Elizabeth held the edge in shots 33-15, shots on goal 25-13 and corner kicks 3-2. Fouls in the tilt were whistled 9-4 against Saint Elizabeth.
The loss is Mount Saint Vincent's fourth straight since it beat Yeshiva on October 16 and drops it to 1-15 overall on the season. The Dolphins will close out the 2009 campaign on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Farmingdale St. Kick-off with the Rams is slated for 1:00 p.m.
