Mount Saint Vincent wins big on Senior Night

Jamochian, Osorio net two goals each

YONKERS, NY – On Senior Night, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team snapped a five match losing streak with an 8-0 win over Yeshiva at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers. Senior Cynthia Osorio (Oceanside, NY) led the offensive charge with two goals and an assist, while Louisa Jamochian (Olney, MD) posted her second multiple goal game of the season.

The Dolphins opened a 3-0 lead in the first half on the strength on Jamochian's two tallies and a goal by Jennifer Lupero (Mamaroneck, NY). Jamochian also added an assist on Lupero's goal, while Lupero assisted on both of Jamochian's goals in the frame.

The seniors took over in the second half, as Osorio scored twice, Marie Garcia (Medford, MA) tallied once, Alexis Alessi (Rockville Centre, NY) scored her first career goal, and Sara Fernandes (Yonkers, NY) added a marker for the Dolphins.

For the game the Dolphins had five players with at least one goal and one assist as they improved to 6-8 overall on the season and 3-4 in the Skyline Conference.

Mount Saint Vincent out shot Yeshiva 41-1 in the match and took 16 corner kicks against none for Yeshiva. Fouls in the match were called 11-1 against the Dolphins.

Senior Deidre Baker (Queens, NY) made one save in the game in her first appearance in net for the Dolphins this season. Tamar Kram made six saves for the Macs in the first half, while Raquel Amram made eight stops in the second frame.

Monday night maked the last time that the five seniors on the 2007 squad would don the home uniform for the Dolphins in a regular season game. Alessi, Baker, Fernandes, Garcia and Osorio were honored at halftime by Mount Saint Vincent Director of Athletics Cathy Ingram for their dedication to the program over the past four years.

After an off day on Tuesday, the Dolphins will travel to Newburgh, NY to take on Mount Saint Mary. Kick-off against the Blue Knights is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
