Dolphins remain unbeaten in Skyline play with triumph over Polytechnic

Osorio nets hat trick in the win

YONKERS, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team topped Polytechnic 7-0 on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the squad to 4-3 overall on the season and a perfect 2-0 within the Skyline Conference. Cynthia Osorio (Oceanside, NY) led the offensive attack with three goals and an assist.

Osorio tallied the eventual game winning goal at the 32:53 mark of the match, on assists from Sara Fernandes (Yonkers, NY) and Jessica McBain (Troy, NY). Her goal would be the only one scored in the first half, as the Dolphins would explode for six markers in the second frame.

McBain opened the scoring in the second half at the 61:15 mark, as the Dolphins would go on to score four times in just under eight minutes. Other goal scorers in the half were Jennifer Lupero (Mamaroneck, NY), Tayra Keshinover (Wappingers Falls, NY), Kaitlin Moore (Levittown, NY), and Osorio twice. Marie Garcia (Medford, MA) and McBain each recorded a pair of assists in the contest.

Alexis Alessi (Rockville Centre, NY) combined with Osorio for the shutout in goal, the team's second straight shutout and third overall on the season. Alessi made a pair of stops, while Osorio made one save.

For the game, the Dolphins held the advantage in shots 29-3. They also topped the Blue Jays in corner kicks 11-0, while fouls were even in the match at four apiece.

With the win the Dolphins climb over the .500 mark for the first time this season and will be back in action on Monday at CCNY at 6:00 p.m.
