Martino Cecere  (Rye Brook, NY/Blind Brook HS) combined for a shutout as the Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team downed the Culinary Institute of America, 1-0, to claim the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference (HVMAC) Regular Season Championship during a game played at Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. The win was Mount Saint Vincent's fifth straight overall as the Dolphins improve to 8-7-1 overall, and finish their HVMAC slate with a 3-0 record.

Chriaizia, who had not scored in HVMAC play this season until today's heroics, scored unassisted on a breakaway with 17 minutes remaining in regulation for the game's only goal as the two teams engaged in a bitter defensive struggle. While Mount Saint Vincent outshot Culinary, 20-7, neither team enjoyed consistent pressure on offense or a true scoring opportunity until Chiarizia came through late in the second half. Only five Dolphin shots were on goal, while the Mount goalies were forced to make only two combined saves.

The win was not only Mount Saint Vincent's fifth straight, but also the third in three days for the Dolphins, who played their entire HVMAC schedule this weekend, beating Cooper Union 5-3 on Friday, and Webb 4-0 on Saturday. The Mount will be the top seed for next weekend's HVMAC Playoffs where they will face Culinary once again on Saturday, Nov. 5. The winner of the semifinal will face the winner of the Webb-Cooper Union semifinal on Sunday at the Culinary Institute.

Sens-Castet earned his fifth win of the 2005 season after a solid first half of play, and has not allowed a goal in more than 300 minutes as the last time an opponent scored on him was during the 54th minute of Manhattanville's 3-0 win over Mount Saint Vincent on Sept. 29. The shutout win was the Mount's fourth during the current five-game winning streak, as the Dolphins have allowed only three goals during its last five games.
