Men’s Soccer Defeated At USMMA-Kings Point

Dolphins to take part in Valiant Classic Friday and Saturday

KINGS POINT, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer squad was downed on Wednesday evening at the United State Merchant Marine Academy by a score of 6-0. The Dolphins will be in search of their first win on Friday evening when they take on New York University in the first game of the Valiant Classic hosted by Manhattanville.

USMMA-Kings Point used a five goal first half to secure the win. Clint Foster scored back-to-back goals at 5:09 and 11:48 to send the Mariners to victory. The Mariners used three keepers in the game, with Lucas Larson making one save on the night.

Overall in the contest, USMMA-Kings Point held the edge in shots 16-2 and shots on goal 8-1. Corner kicks in the tilt also went in favor of the Mariners 2-0. Fouls were whistled 3-2 against the Dolphins, while the Mariners were offside seven times on the night.

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 0-5 overall on the season. Up next for the Mount is NYU at the Valiant Classic on Friday. Kick-off in Purchase is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
