Mount Saint Vincent Falls On The Road At #6 Montclair State

Raftery makes 15 saves for the Mount

MONTCLAIR, NJ – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team fell on the road to nationally ranked Montclair State on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 9-0. Senior goalkeeper Bill Raftery (Bronx, NY) made 15 saves in goal for the Dolphins against the number six ranked Red Hawks.

The Red Hawks jumped on top 1-0 at the 30:08 mark on a goal from Rodrigo Santiago. Santiago would go on to net a second goal and would also add a pair of assists to the winning effort. Dave Przybylo also posted two markers in the contest as Montclair improved to 3-0 on the season.

Raftery finished the afternoon with 15 stops, with 11 coming in the opening period. The senior netminder went on to make four stops in the second half for the Dolphins.

Overall in the contest, Mount Saint Vincent was outshot 35-2, with 24 of the Red Hawks' shots ending up on goal. Montclair State also held the edge in corner kicks at 12-1, while fouls in the contest were whistled 6-1 against the home team.

At 0-3 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will be off until Saturday when it takes part in the College of New Jersey Soccer Classic. The Dolphins will tussle with New Jersey City University on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
