RIVERDALE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team dropped a pair of games over the weekend at the Drew Fall Festival. The Dolphins fell to the host Rangers on Saturday night by a score of 5-0, before being downed by Juniata on Sunday afternoon by a score of 8-0. Freshman
Carlo Malerba (Derby, CT) made his collegiate debut on Saturday and made five saves for the Mount.
In the season opener at Drew, Malerba made five saves in the contest as the Rangers unleashed 31 shots in the tilt. The Rangers also took nine corner kicks in the contest and fouls were called 4-2 against the Mount.
On Sunday, Juniata finished the game with 37 total shots with Malerba making eight stops. The Dolphins finished the game with six shots, with sophomore J.R. Downey (Highland Falls, NY) recording four. Javier Mandujano (Norwalk, CT) and Mahabir Samuel (Bronx, NY) also recorded shots in the game for Mount Saint Vincent.
At 0-2 overall on the season, Mount Saint Vincent will be in action again on Wednesday afternoon. The road game at Montclair State is scheduled to kick-off at 3:30 p.m.
