Manhattanville downs Mount Saint Vincent 3-0 in Men's Soccer

Dolphins out-shot 15-6; two-game winning streak broken

(Purchase, NY) – Bernard Kieting and Scott Vieira each scored a goal and added an assist, and Manhattanville freshman goalie Gerard Tellier registered one save for his first career shutout as Manhattanville downed Mount Saint Vincent, 3-0 in a Men's Soccer game played at Manhattanville College. With the win, Manhattanville improved to 4-3-1 and 2-0 in the Skyline Conference while Mount Saint Vincent dropped to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the Skyline. The loss ends a two-match winning streak for the Dolphins.

Manhattanville scored twice in a 10-minute span during the first half to take a commanding 2-0 lead as Vieira scored in the 27th minute while Kieting tallied his goal at the 37 minute mark. Mount Saint Vincent took only one first half shot as the Valiants controlled possession for nearly the entire first 45 minutes. For the game, the Dolphins were out-shot 15-6 and did not take a single corner kick while Manhattanville took seven.

Mount Saint Vincent goalie Nicholas Sens-Castet (Brooklyn, NY/St. John's Prep) made four saves.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Saturday for a huge Skyline Conference clash with Maritime College at 1:00 p.m. The match will take place at Maritime and could have huge Skyline Conference playoff implications.
