YONKERS, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer squad fell in a tough, hard fought contest to Purchase on Senior Day, 3-2. Senior

Purchase opened the scoring at the 7:06 mark of the match when Colin Wilcox served the ball to the far post where Geoff Robbins finished it for an early 1-0 lead. Mount Saint Vincent answered at 12:37 on Herrera's seventh tally of the season. Zack Coppola (Staten Island, NY) put a throw-in to the box, where Herrera picked it up and deposited it in the goal.
Purchase went on to close the half with two quick goals inside the last five minutes. Dan Grabowski-Clark put a free kick in the right corner at 42:20 and then Robbins struck for his second of the game and the eventual game winner just over a minute later to give Purchase a 3-1 lead at the half.
Federico cut the deficit in half in the 72nd minute when he picked up a free ball and snuck it past Purchase keeper Noah Colantuono. His goal would close out the scoring in the contest.
William Raftery (Throggs Neck, NY) got the start in net and made two saves in the first half. James Green (Waldwick, NJ) played the second frame and made one stop for the Mount.
For the game, the Dolphins out shot Purchase 11-7 and held the advantage in corner kicks at 4-0. Fouls in the contest were even at 16 apiece.
At 4-11 overall and 2-6 in Skyline play, Mount Saint Vincent will return to action on Sunday when it takes on Cooper Union in a HVMAC Semifinal contest. Kick-off is set for 11:00 a.m. at Westchester Community College.
