New York, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team ran its winning streak to three games on Tuesday night with a convincing 84-30 road win at Yeshiva. Sophomore

(Bethpage, N.Y.) was one of five players to score in double-figures on the night, matching her career-high with 16 points. The win gives Mount Saint Vincent its third three game winning streak of the season.
After Yeshiva scored four of the first six points of the contest, Mount Saint Vincent responded with a 13-0 run capped by an O'Connor three to push the Dolphins in front 15-4 5:37 into the contest. After a free-throw from Elana Kastzl cut the Mount lead to nine points, the Dolphins would not lead by fewer then 10 points the remainder of the contest.
O'Connor scored 11 of her 16 points in the second half on 5-5 shooting from the field, including a three-pointer. Overall in the game, she went 7-12 from the field, and also chipped in with two rebounds, a steal and three assists.
The Mount Saint Vincent defense had its second straight stifling performance on Tuesday as it held Yeshiva to just eight field goals in the first half and 12 overall in the contest. The Dolphins forced 38 turnovers in the game and held the Maccabees to a season-best 24.5-percent field goal percentage and a season-low 30 points scored. The Dolphins converted more field goals in the second half (18), then Yeshiva did in the game and held the Maccabees to just nine second half points.
The Dolphins shot 44.9-percent (35-78) from the floor in the contest, including a 35.3-percent clip (6-17) from three-point range. The Mount turned the 38 Yeshiva turnovers into 42 points and also held a 10-0 advantage in fast break tallies.
Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, N.Y.) finished the contest with 12 points for the Mount, while Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), Jen Mocanu (Middletown, N.J.) and Ashley Ruiz (Carmel, N.Y.) all finished with 10.
Brittany Griffin (Suffern, N.Y.) turned in a solid effort on Tuesday with nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, N.Y.) added four points and a game-high six assists. For the game the Dolphins assisted on 23 of their 35 field goals and only turned the ball over 12 times.
Yeshiva (2-18, 0-15 Skyline) was paced by Lauren Kempin with eight points and 10 rebounds, while Tova Laufer finished with seven points and 10 boards. Shir Fuchs added a team-high three assists for the Macs.
The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 13-9 overall on the season and to 12-3 within the league. The Dolphins next contest will be on Saturday when they host Purchase. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and fans attending the game are encouraged to wear red as the Mount will be supporting the American Heart Association on Go Red For Women Day.
