Mount Saint Vincent topples Yeshiva for fourth straight win

RIVERDALE, NY – Karissa Koerner (Bay Shore, NY) scored a team-high 16 points off  the bench and Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, NY) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds as the Mount Saint

 Sophomore Karissa Koerner scored a team-high 16 points against Yeshiva.
Vincent Women's Basketball team cruised to an 81-36 win over Yeshiva on Saturday night.

Koerner shot 6-9 from the floor in the game, including 3-5 from three-point land on her way to a season-high 16 points. Joining Koerner in double-figures on the night were Ciara Clarke (Warwick, NY) with 11 and Lauren Percodani (Staten Island, NY) with 10.

Clarke played a solid all-around game for the Dolphins, chipping in four rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists in the win. Percodani was also strong in the contest, handing out a game-high eight assists to go along with five rebounds and four steals.

A trio of Dolphins scored seven points on the night, including Heesemann and Kaitlin Burud (Red Hook, NY). Ashley Farrow (Ocean, NJ) also chipped in with seven to go along with a season-high eight rebounds. Burud grabbed nine boards on the night in the win. 

The Dolphins forced 41 turnovers in the contest and converted them into 47 points. The Mount also held the advantage in second chance points at 20-8, points in the paint at 26-16 and bench points at 40-4.

The Mount shot 32-78 (.410) from the floor in the tilt, which includes an8-21 (.381) mark from three-point range. The Dolphins also grabbed 62 rebounds in the game, including 30 on the offensive glass.

The win is the Dolphins fourth in a row and moves them to 6-2 overall on the season, 4-1 within the Skyline Conference, and 2-0 in the HVWAC. Mount Saint Vincent will be back in action on January 8 when they travel to St. Joseph's (LI) for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
