Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team picked up a league road win on Saturday afternoon, winning at Sage by a score of 68-47.

knocked down three triples on her way to a game-high 20 points.
The Dolphins never trailed in the contest and controlled the game from the start, scoring the first 15 points of the tilt. Sage did not score a point until an Amber Muir free-throw with 14:18 left in the half. Sage cut its deficit to just seven points on a Carlin DeMarinis triple with 11:10 left, but the Mount put together an 11-0 run to open an 18 point advantage with 6:46 left in the half.
Mount Saint Vincent opened a 21 point lead twice in the frame, before heading into the intermission with a 19 point advantage at 40-21. Mocanu led the Mount with 15 points in the period, as the Dolphins shot 35.9-percent from the field.
The Dolphins held a lead as large as 28 points in the second half and did not let Sage get any closer than 14 points. Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) posted seven points and three assists in the frame, as the Dolphins picked up their second straight league win.
The Dolphins held Sage to just 29.8-percent (17-57) from the floor. The game marked the fourth time this season that the Mount has held an opponent to under 30-percent shooting. The defense also forced 30 Gator turnovers and turned those into 25 points.
Mount Saint Vincent finished the contest shooting 36.9-percent (24-65) and assisted on 16 of its 24 made baskets. Mocanu finished the game 7-12 from the field and 3-5 from three-point range. She also grabbed three rebounds and swiped a pair of steals. Heesemann posted 12 points and five rebounds. She also handed out a team-high five assists and collected five steals.
Sage (2-14, 2-8 Skyline) was led by DeMarinis who finished with 19 points on 7-15 shooting. She canned five three-pointers for the Gators and pulled down eight rebounds. Elizabeth Donk handed out a game-high six assists for Sage and chipped in with four points and six rebounds.
The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 9-8 overall on the season and to 8-2 in the Skyline Conference. Next up for the Dolphins is a home date with Bard on January 27. Tip-off with the Raptors is set for 8:00 p.m.
