points in the Mount's 69-48 win over Purchase. The win gives Mount Saint Vincent a four game winning streak, matching the longest such streak over the past two seasons.
The Dolphins led wire-to-wire in the contest and scored the first six points of the night, with four of those coming from Percodani. The Mount used its quick start to run out to a 10 point lead at the 9:57 mark of the half after a Ciara Clarke (Warwick, N.Y.) trey.
After an Amanda Capone triple moved Purchase to within three points with 4:30 to play in the period, Mount Saint Vincent ran off nine of the next 12 points to open a nine point advantage in the final1:34. A Jill Brady (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) conversion at the horn sent the Mount to the locker room with a 30-22 lead.
Mount Saint Vincent finished the half 12-for-31 from the field, but just 3-for-16 from behind the arc. Clarke made all three of the triples for the Dolphins as she led all scorers at the break with nine tallies.
The Mount pushed its lead back to double-figures in the opening four minutes of the second half and never let Purchase closer then eight points the rest of the night. The lead would reach 19 points after a Percodani trey in the final 1:33 and got to a game-high 21 points after a Brady triple with 1:02 showing on the clock.
Percodani scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the second half, after going a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor. She knocked down a pair from behind the arc and was 6-for-8 from the line in the second half. For the game she finished with five rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Clarke and Courtney Heesemann (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) each posted 13 points on the night, with Heesemann grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season. Clarke finished with three triples and also secured six rebounds. Brady rounded out the four in double-figures with 11 tallies and five rebounds.
Overall in the game the Dolphins held Purchase to just 31.8-percent shooting and forced 28 turnovers. The Mount finished the night with 25 points off of those turnovers and also outscored the Panthers 22-6 in the paint. Second chance points also went to the Dolphins at 15-5 after a 14-6 edge on the offensive glass.
The win pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 14-8 overall on the season and to 11-5 in league play. The Dolphins will hit the road on Saturday when they try to extend their winning streak to five games at NYU-POLY. Tip-off with the Blue Jays is set for 12:00 p.m.
