Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team had its losing streak extended to a season-long four games on Saturday afternoon with a 95-83 home loss to Purchase.

Nick DiMaggio (Croton, N.Y.) led four Dolphins in double-figures with 18 points.
The game was tight the entire first half, with the largest lead being six points by the Panthers with 5:02 left in the period. Purchase scored the first five points of the contest and held the lead until Dino Johnson (Amsterdam, N.Y.) canned a three to push the Mount in front 13-12. The Dolphins would hold one other lead in the opening stanza, at 17-16, before Purchase closed the half with a 36-31 advantage.
The Dolphins outshot Purchase in the first 20:00, converting 45.2-percent of their field goal attempts to an even 40-percent for Purchase. Purchase made one more three in the half and converted 6-8 from the foul line to just 2-2 for the Mount. Marvin Billups of Purchase led all scorers with 14 points on 6-10 shooting in the half.
Mount Saint Vincent opened the second half with back-to-back three pointers to take a 37-36 edge just 49 second into the period. The Panthers answered with seven straight points to take a lead they would not relinquish the rest of the afternoon. The Purchase lead extended to double-figures with 15:07 left in the contest on a pair of Tyriq Harrington free-throws.
The Dolphins cut the lead to seven points on a quick 6-0 run with 13:02 left, but could not get any closer the rest of the game. A triple from DiMaggio with 24 seconds left cut the Mount deficit to nine points, but Purchase made 3-4 free-throws down the stretch to seal the 12 point victory.
Mount Saint Vincent shot 47.8-percent from the field in the contest, while Purchase converted 44.4-percent of its opportunities. The Dolphins made three more triples in the contest, but Purchase outscored the Mount 32-7 from the foul line. The Panthers finished 32-39 from the line, while the Mount went just 7-11.
Purchase (14-9, 9-7) held a 48-28 advantage on the glass and turned a 16-7 edge in offensive rebounding into a 19-11 edge in second chance points. Billups led Purchase with 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Harrington and Chad Charney each finished with 19 points. Justin Walters came off the bench to post 15 points and eight boards for the Panthers.
DiMaggio finished the contest 7-17 from the floor and made four treys for the Dolphins. Johnson returned to double-figures with 16 points to go along with four assists, while Keiran Halton (Manasquan, N.J.) and Joe Cooke (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) each posted 13. DiMaggio led the team with four steals, while Pat Panetta (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) and Halton led the way with six rebounds each.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 11-11 overall on the season and to 9-7 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will step outside the league on February 17 when they travel to Staten Island. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
