FARMINGDALE, NY – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team had its two game winning streak snapped with a 111-71 loss at Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins

had four players score in double-figures, led by senior captain Derek Charlton (Yonkers, NY/St. Raymond's) who finished with 17 points.

Charlton also led the team on the boards with eight in the contest, but the Dolphins were out-rebounded in the tilt by a 43-33 margin. The Rams grabbed 16 offensive boards in the game, leading to 19 second chance points.

Freshman Kenny Widgeon (Plainfield, NJ) finished the day with 15 points, while Joe Cooke (Mount Vernon, NY/Fordham Prep) and Dino Johnson (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) finished with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Johnson also finished the day with six rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Justin Baylosis (East Rockaway, NY/Archbishop Molloy) came off the bench to lead the Dolphins with three assists against the Rams.

For the game, the Dolphins shot .408 (29-71) from the floor, but just .278 (5-18) from behind the three-point line. The Mount defense forced 12 turnovers in the game and converted those into 16 points.

The Rams showed eight players in double-figures on the day, as they shot an impressive .548 (40-73) from the floor, including a .520 mark from long range. Farmingdale State was led in scoring by Peter Lipka who finished with 19 points. Damien Santana finished with 18 points on the afternoon and Erastus Shannon posted a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

The loss drops the Dolphins to 7-10 on the season and to 4-6 in Skyline Conference play. The Mount will be back in action on Tuesday night when it hosts Old Westbury to Hayes Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
