rival Yeshiva on Tuesday night. Caputo was the only Mount Saint Vincent player to score in double-figures and also chipped in with four rebounds and a pair of steals.

The two teams struggled to score early in the tilt before the Dolphins used a quick 15-5 spurt to push in front by ten at 22-12 with 5:36 left before halftime. The Dolphins would go on to score the final six points to take their largest lead of the half, 31-17, into the locker room.

Sophomore captain Keiran Halton (Manasquan, N.J.) had a game-high six points in the first twenty minutes to go along with two boards and a pair of assists. The Dolphins shot just over 44-percent in the half and held the Maccabees to just 30.4-percent shooting from the floor and 21.4-percent shooting from behind the arc.

Mount Saint Vincent would maintain its double digit lead for the majority of the second half and extended it to 15 points twice in the frame once on a layup from Shaquille Cunningham (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and once on a Dino Johnson (Amsterdam, N.Y.) triple with just over seven minutes left in regulation.

Yeshiva chipped its deficit down to nine points during a scoring drought of nearly 5:30 from Mount Saint Vincent. The Maccabees could only muster six points during the drought and the Mount closed with three Caputo free-throws to earn the final 12 point advantage.

The Dolphins struggled from the floor in the second half, but their defense held Yeshiva to just 7-20 shooting from the field in the period and just 3-12 shooting from three-point range to earn the win. For the game the Maccabees shot just under 33-percent on 14-43 shooting from the floor and converted just six of their 26 three-point field goal attempts.

Caputo finished the contest 3-9 from the floor and 3-7 from behind the arc. He also handed out an assist in a career-high 35 minutes of action. Johnson chipped in with eight points and Cunningham netted seven for the Mount. Junior Pat Panetta (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) had a strong night on the glass, grabbing a game-high 10 of the Dolphins' 40 rebounds.

The contest featured only 28 free-throws combined with Yeshiva going just 4-6 from the line. The Macs did not attempt a free-throw in the first half. Mount Saint Vincent's 12 attempts are the fewest since it took 11 on February 21, 2009 against Farmingdale St.

The win pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 2-0 on the season overall and to 1-0 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins will hit the road for the first time this season on Thursday when they travel to Mount Saint Mary. Tip-off with the Blue Knights is set for 7:00 p.m.
