Saturday 77-57. Roibal also finished with a game-high three blocks as the Dolphins won their second straight league contest.
After trading the lead early on, Mount Saint Vincent pushed in front for good on a triple from Dino Johnson (Amsterdam, N.Y.) with 15:43 left in the opening period. A Joe Cooke (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) three two and a half minutes later moved the lead to 16-6.
Mount Saint Vincent jumped out to a 14 point lead on a pair of free-throws from Joe Ecock (Brooklyn, N.Y.) late in the half, before Maritime closed the period with a 7-3 spurt to cut its deficit to 36-26 at halftime.
The Dolphins would not be able to pull away until late in the second half, as the Privateers trimmed the Mount lead to five points at 58-53 on a pair of free-throws from Jermelle Fraser with just over 7:00 left in regulation. From there, the Dolphins strung together a 16-1 run to push the lead to 20 points with just 1:26 left in the contest.
Roibal finished the game 5-7 from the floor and a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line coming off the bench to reach his career mark in the scoring column. He also finished with three rebounds, a steal and three blocks.
Nick DiMaggio (Croton, N.Y.) and Johnson tied for the game-high in points with 19. Johnson knocked down five three pointers in the game to go along with five assists and six rebounds. DiMaggio went 5-8 from the floor overall in the contest and pulled down five rebounds. He also handed out a team-high six assists against just a pair of turnovers.
Pat Panetta (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) scored in double-figures for the fourth time in his last five appearances on Saturday with 10 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds and handed out a pair of assists in the win.
The Mount played strong defense on Saturday, holding Maritime to just 29.3-percent (17-58) shooting from the floor. That mark is a season low for the Dolphins, who also forced 19 turnovers.
The Dolphins shot 41.9-percent (26-62) from the floor on the afternoon and knocked down 10 triples. The Mount shot 15-18 from the charity stripe, while Maritime shot 21-29 from the free-throw line.
The Privateers had two players in double-figures in the contest, with Giovanni Hurley leading the way with 12 points. Kevin Josey posted 11 for Maritime, while Quamel Lyerly recorded a game-high 11 boards. Andre Cooper finished with seven points and seven assists.
The win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 9-7 overall on the season and to 7-3 in the Skyline Conference. The nine wins equals the teams total from last season and the seven league wins in one better than the output from 2007-08. The Dolphins will look for their third straight win on January 27 when they host Bard. Tip-off at Hayes Gymnasium is slated for 6:00 p.m.
