Old Westbury, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Basketball team dropped its fourth straight decision on Wednesday night with a 92-80 road loss at league leading Old Westbury. Four Dolphins scored in double-figures in the contest, led by junior Dino Johnson's (Amsterdam, N.Y.) 15 points.
Mount Saint Vincent led only once in the contest and it came in the opening 40 seconds after a Carson Miller (New Oxford, Pa.) lay up at the 19:43 mark of the first half. The Panthers quickly knotted

the score on their next possession and then pulled in front for good after a Kristopher Afum bucket with 18:13 to play before halftime.
Following the Miller bucket the Dolphins went until the 16:21 mark of the half without scoring, until Guavard ended an 11-0 run by the Panthers with a fast break basket to pull the Dolphins to within seven points.
Old Westbury would not let the Dolphins any closer then that seven point deficit the remainder of the evening and pulled out to a double-digit lead after a Lester Prosper jumper at the 14 minute mark. The lead would grow to 23 points twice in the first half, including at the buzzer for halftime when Jason Kondra sent the Panthers to the locker room up 56-33 after his lay in beat the horn.
Old Westbury knocked down nearly 54-percent of its field goal chances in the opening 20 minutes and shot a blistering 5-for-9 from behind the arc to build the big lead at the break. Afum and Prosper led all scorers at the break with 12 points each.
After the Panthers pushed their lead to a game-high 27 points early in the second half, the Dolphins responded with a 24-6 spurt to slice their deficit to nine points following a three point play from Eric Van Tine (Hawthorne, N.J.) with 9:38 to play in the contest.
The Mount would climb to within eight points after a Filipp Bochkov (Moscow, Russia) triple with 6:23 left, but Old Westbury rebounded with a 14-5 run of its own to balloon the lead back to 15 points at 84-69 with three and a half minutes to play. Val Arranz (New York, N.Y.) would close out an 8-4 spurt to close the game and pull the Dolphins to within the final 12 points with a trey in the final 20 seconds.
Old Westbury matched the Dolphins' four players in double-figures, but the Panthers had three players score at least 18 points on Wednesday. Afum led all scorers with 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting and Propser posted 18 points and a game-high 20 rebounds. Kondra was the third Panther to net 18 points, going 8-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Johnson finished the night 5-for-13 from the floor overall and knocked down three triples for the Dolphins. Guvard finished 5-for-15 overall on his way to 13 points and Bochkov matched his career-high with 12 points, drilling a pair of three pointers. Miller rounded out the quartet in double-figures with 10 tallies.
The loss is the seventh in eight games for Mount Saint Vincent and drops it to 7-11 overall and to 4-10 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on the road Saturday afternoon when they travel to Patchogue to take on St. Joseph's-L.I. Tip-off with the Golden Eagles is set for 4:00 p.m.
