Dolphins in double figures with 15 points in the contest.
The game was tightly contested with the two teams trading the lead over the first seven minutes. Neither team had a lead greater then two points until Alvin Denis converted a layup for the Rams to push them in front by four at 12-8 with 11:37 remaining in the first half.
Mount Saint Vincent would knot the score at 14 after back-to-back three pointers from Eric Van Tine (Hawthorne, N.J.), before Farmingdale St. used a 13-4 run to move in front by nine points with 4:47 left in the half. The Dolphins would again respond and would score seven of the final nine points to close the period to head into the locker room down just four at 29-25.
Both teams struggled from the field in the opening twenty minutes, with Farmingdale St. shooting just 30.8-percent from the floor and the Mount converting just 29.4-percent of its field goal opportunities. The two teams combined for five three pointers in the frame with Mount Saint Vincent converting four of those.
Mount Saint Vincent would come out and open the second half on a quick 8-3 spurt to jump in front for the final time in the contest by a score of 33-32. DiMaggio and Filipp Bochkov (Moscow, Russia) each nailed triples in the run that was capped by a Carson Miller (New Oxford, Pa.) lay in with 17:19 remaining in regulation.
After the score was tied at 35-35, the Rams used a 14-0 run over a five minute stretch to pull in front 49-35 with just over 11 minutes to play. Farmingdale's lead would grow to a game-high 17 points after a pair of Nikita Davis free throws with 9:13 left.
The Mount would get the lead down to six points after a Sean Caputo (Staten Island, N.Y.) triple with 4:58 left but that would be as close as the Mount would get the remainder of the evening.
DiMaggio finished the night 5-20 from the floor to reach his team-high 15 points and also chipped in with four rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal. Shaquille Cunningham (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Bochkov each tallied 11 points for the Mount. Bochkov also grabbed seven boards and Cunningham dished out four assists.
For the game Mount Saint Vincent shot 31.3-percent from the floor and 28.9-percent from behind the arc. The Mount was outrebounded in the contest 59-40, including 18-9 on the offensive end.
The Rams had five players reach double-figures on Tuesday and were led by 15 points from Andre Martin who was 7-10 from the field. Shahee Martin posted the game's only double-double recording 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 6-5 overall and to 3-4 in league play. The Dolphins will return to action on the road Thursday night when they travel to Purchase. Tip-off with the Panthers is set for 7:00 p.m.
