Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team dropped its second straight Skyline Conference decision on Tuesday after a 6-0 loss to Sage. Junior goalkeeper Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.J.) made 12 saves between the pipes for the Dolphins on the afternoon.
Sage got on the board with the eventual game winner in the third minute when Emily Dooley finished off a feed from Rebecca Marszalek at the 2:03 mark of the match. The Gators would add a late goal in the period on an Amanda Potter marker in the 43rd minutes to carry a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
The Gators would go on to add four insurance markers in the second half, with Nicole Killeen finding the back of the cage twice in the frame. Marszalek finished off a three point afternoon with a goal of her own in the second half. In all, Sage had six players record at least one point in the contest.
McNish played a solid game between the pipes for the Dolphins, with seven of her 12 saves coming in the second half. She has now made at least 10 stops in a game for the Mount on four occasions, with Tuesday's 12 being her second highest total of the season. Brittany McDonald made three saves for Sage to earn the shutout victory.
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 2-8 overall on the season and to 1-5 against Skyline Conference opponents. The Dolphins will look to get back into the win column on Thursday afternoon when they play host to John Jay. Kick-off with the Bloodhounds is slated for 4:00 p.m. at Purchase.
