Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team's season came to an end on Saturday evening after an 8-0 loss to Farmingdale State. Junior Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.J.) closed out the season with a solid 12 save performance for the Dolphins.
The Rams opened the scoring in the second minute of the contest on Saturday and evenly distributed their eight goals over the two halves. The Rams finished with six different goals scorers, including Jamie Smith and Anna-Marie Rivera who tallied two goals each. Christina Merill finished the match with three assists.
McNish finished the night with 12 saves, which gives her five double-digit save performances this season. The 12 stops also mark the second highest save total of the season. Stacey Rao earned the shutout victory for the Rams without having to make a save.
Overall in the contest Farmingdale finished with a 37-0 advantage in shots and took the only five corner kicks of the tilt. Fouls in the contest were called 8-3 against the visitors on Saturday.
The loss closes out Mount Saint Vincent's season with a 4-12 overall record and a 3-7 mark in Skyline Conference play.
