Final Stats

Farmingdale
, N.Y. The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team dropped its second straight match and third in its last four on Saturday afternoon following a 3-1 defeat at Farmingdale State. Junior midfielder Hugo Hernandez (West Harrison, N.Y.) tallied his sixth goal of the season for the Dolphins in the final minute.

The Rams wasted little time getting on the board Saturday after Mathew Arthurs scored just 42 seconds into the match to give the home team a 1-0 advantage. Farmingdale State went on to add one more goal in the opening period when Ryan Lang tallied an unassisted goal to send the Rams into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The Dolphins would settle in for much of the second half and did not allow the third goal of the game until the 75th minute when Nick Herrera finished off a feed from Tyler Blazer for a commanding three goal cushion.

Hernandez would get the Mount on the board in the final minute when he converted a penalty kick with just 52 seconds left in the contest. The penalty marker was his second on the season and the junior now leads the Mount in goals with his six and points with 14.

Ray Levan posted the victory for Farmingdale State on Saturday and made a pair of saves for the Rams. Javier Mandujano was saddled with the loss after allowing the three goals and making six saves. After not allowing more then two goals in a match over the first 10 matches of the season, Mandujano has allowed three in each of the last two contests.

Overall in the match, the Rams held the advantage in shots 15-9 and in corner kicks 4-1. Fouls were whistled 13-10 against the Dolphins, while Farmingdale State was guilty of six offside violations.

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 3-6-3 overall on the season and to 2-5-2 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will close out the regular season on October 28 when they play host to Maritime. Kick-off with the Privateers at Gaelic Park is slated for 8:30 p.m.
