, N.J. The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team dropped two of the three matches it played on Saturday at Stevens. The Dolphins were defeated 3-0 by St. Lawrence to open the day by scores of 20-25, 13-25 and 8-25 before rebounding to take the second match of the day against John Jay by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-19. To close out the afternoon the Mount was swept by the host Ducks by scores of 12-25, 12-25, 12-25.

 

In the opener the Dolphins managed only 16 kills and hit .000 against St. Lawrence. Morgane Booker (East Providence, R.I.) and Kallie Maglione (Ridgefield Park, N.Y.) led the Dolphins with four kills each. Booker also finished the match with five total blocks, including two solos.

 

Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Mount with 13 digs, while rookie Designa Correa (Bronx, N.Y.) totaled 11. Sophomore setter Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) finished the match with 10 assists and eight digs for the Dolphins.

 

In Mount Saint Vincent's win over John Jay, it rebounded to recorded 21 kills as a team and hit .130. Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.), MacBride and Gabriella Burgos (Yonkers, N.Y.) each posted four kills against the Bloodhounds, with Burgos hitting .667.

 

MacBride closed out a solid match with four service aces to go along with two digs and 13 assists. Booker chipped in with three kills and a team-high five service aces, while Correa lifted a team best 16 digs in the win.

 

The Dolphins closed out a busy Saturday against Stevens, and finished off just 12 kills in three sets against the Ducks. Booker finished a strong day with four more kills and also added a solo block. Nepomuceno led the team with nine digs and also collected a pair of kills.

 

MacBride and Maglione each posted three winners against Stevens and each player also lifted four digs for the Dolphins. MacBride led the team with six assists and three of the Mount's four service aces in the match.

 

Following Saturday's 1-2 result, Mount Saint Vincent stands at 12-9 overall on the season. The Dolphins will play their fourth straight non-conference match on Thursday when they travel to Medgar Evers. The match with the Cougars is slated for 7:00 p.m.
