Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball squad picked up its fourth win in five matches on Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep at Bard. The Dolphins earned the win by set scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-21. Junior Jessica Williams (Cornwall, N.Y.) led the offense against the Raptors with 10 kills.
With her double-digit kill performance against Bard, Williams has now recorded at least 10 kills six times this season, including in each of the past three matches. She also lifted 10 digs on the night to record her fifth double-double of the season.
Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) chipped in with eight digs and eight kills on the night and rookie Morgane Booker (East Providence, R.I.) posted three of the Dolphins' four total blocks in the match.
Junior Renee Reynes (Bronx, N.Y.) finished the night with match-high 21 digs for the Dolphins and was one of three players to post at least 10 on the night. Joining Reynes and Williams with double-digit digs was Irma Nepomuceno (Bronx, N.Y.) who finished with 15.
Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) led all players with 26 assists on the night and also contributed a pair of kills, two aces and nine defensive digs. Reynes, Nepomuceno and MacBride each totaled two aces each and combined for six of the Mount's seven against the Raptors.
Bard was led on the night by Iga Mrozek who tallied nine kills and Rachel Van Horn who posted eight winners. Van Horn also led the Raptors with eight digs, while Fiona Do Thi and Jessica Philpott each handed out eight assists.
Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent hit .103 as a team and totaled 31 kills. The Dolphins posted 68 digs to just 23 for Bard, while the Raptors held the edge in total team blocks 4.5-4.0.
The win improves Mount Saint Vincent's overall record to 11-7 and its Skyline conference mark to 5-3. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they play three matches at Stevens. The first of the three contests is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. against St. Lawrence.
