UMSV Athletics announced the hiring of Rob Kiley as the program's new Head Men's Tennis Coach, a team that is entered its first season of play since 2009. The Dolphins picked up two wins in 11 tries under Kiley's first season.
A former student-athlete at Wagner College, Kiley competed at the second singles position, compiling an impressive 17–7 record and earning Most Valuable Player honors during the 2006–07 season. He also served as team captain, demonstrating leadership qualities that continue to showcase his coaching abilities.
Before his collegiate career, Kiley established himself as one of New York State's top junior players. His accolades include being named CHSAA Tennis Player of the Year, earning All-CHSAA NY State honors, and finishing as State Champion Runner-Up in Second Singles.Â
Kiley has served as Varsity Boys Tennis Coach at Oceanside High School since 2017, leading the program to two conference championships. In addition, he has worked extensively as a private tennis instructor since 2006, coaching players of all levels through individualized and group instruction throughout Long Island.
Kiley's coaching resume is complemented by his strong educational background. He holds a Master's Degree in Education from Adelphi University and has been an educator at Oceanside High School since 2010, teaching AP Environmental Science, Earth Science, and Astronomy.Â
Beyond tennis, Kiley has demonstrated additional leadership in athletics as a volleyball coach and club director, further strengthening his ability to recruit, organize, and manage competitive programs. His experience running camps, tournaments, and high-level training environments reflects a deep understanding of program building at every level.
