Danny Segelin joins the UMSV men's soccer coaching staff for the spring 2026 season, bringing more than two decades of experience in strength and conditioning, player development and coaching. 

Segelin has worked with athletes at every level of the game, serving as a strength and conditioning coach at Columbia University and with the New York Red Bulls First Team in Major League Soccer. He also operated The New York Fitness Institute for more than a decade, training elite athletes across multiple sports. Segelin is the owner and director of Brooklyn Force Soccer Club in Gowanus, oversees player development and club operations, and serves as a Trustee on the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League Executive Board alongside head coach Max Watson. He holds a US Soccer C License and is currently pursuing his US Soccer B License.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Segelin enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Emory University, where he was a four-year player and team captain. He helped lead the Eagles to two University Athletic Association championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances while earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors. Following his collegiate career, Segelin played professionally with the Cleveland Crunch of the Major Indoor Soccer League before an injury brought his playing career to a close.

Segelin graduated from Emory University in 1998 before earning a master's degree in Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition from Long Island University in 2013.
